You only get one chance to get it right.
Event photography is a great responsibility. From the smallest private event to the largest seminar or festival with hundreds of thousands of people, you only get one chance to get it right because after that, the moment is gone. Quality event photography for clients takes experience, planning and execution.
I have been shooting live concerts since way before I got paid to do it, technically its been almost 30 years. Like most kids in their early teens I would try to sneak my camera into the venue to photograph my favorite band. Unfortunately sometimes they would just confiscate the camera and you didn’t get it back. So in the late 80’s a brand new invention solved that problem, the disposable 35mm camera. No bells and whistles on those cameras but I did learn a lot about how to use existing light in what was usually a very low light situation. My first digital concert shoot was in 2000 with the band Warrant. Technology has come a long way since then but the the principles of good photography are still the same.
